Proof Load Testing

In certain circumstances, for example following significant modifications or repairs, the Competent Person may determine that a ‘proof load’ test is appropriate to verify the integrity and safety of the load bearing device.

Tests and proof loads can vary based on the item type, original manufacturers specification or relevant standards.

CTS Safety can carry out proof load testing on all types of lifting equipment and can advise what is necessary.

A proof load test would involve an initial thorough examination, proof load test (as detailed above) and a final thorough examination following testing.

We would then issue a proof load test certificate along with a report of thorough examination.
