Pressure Systems - PSSR
Most pressure systems, including compressed air, steam and even coffee machines, fall under the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000 (PSSR).
The regulations require that each piece of pressure plant has a Written Scheme of Examination, drawn up by a competent person, and thorough examinations to be carried out at defined intervals in accordance with the written scheme.
Under PSSR, duty holders, users of pressure systems are required to:
- Establish the safe operating limits (pressures and temperatures) of their systems
- Ensure that the pressure system is examined in accordance with the written scheme
- Carry out proper maintenance and provide suitable operating instructions
CTS Safety Engineer Surveyors will keep you up to date on exactly what needs to be examined and when, we will also draw up the written scheme for you.
Examples of Pressure Plant:
Compressed Air Systems – Air receivers, associated plant
Steam – Boilers, steam receivers, autoclaves
Hot Water Boilers - >100°C
